Purpose Statement

The Group Leader has accountability for the business results and capability of a line during an assigned shift. The Group Leader assigns daily work to the line team and supports the equipment owners and line associates in their daily production tasks. The Group Leaders own the development process of the Equipment Owners and Production Associates.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
  1. Lead the line shift team to deliver Safety, Quality, Cost, Production and Engagement results.
  2. Analyze results, gaps and develop action plans to close them.
  3. Ensure all people follow all safety and quality standards.
  4. Lead the shift line handover. Participate in DLM by providing input to the Line Trio.
  5. Build a culture to follow standards by ensuring standards compliance.
  6. Support equipment owners towards completing AM step.
  7. Ensure CIL completion and compliance during the shift.
  8. Coach equipment owners. Provide regular feedback.
  9. Own line shift team members qualification on their skill matrices.
  10. Collaborate with Team Leaders in performance assessments by providing feedback and insights.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

HS degree or GED; BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain Operations, Food Science, Engineering or related field preferred

3 years supervisory experience in a food-processing, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing organization, preferably using computerized manufacturing equipment

Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP

Demonstrated understanding of production scheduling and other production variables such as run-rates, processing times, change-over times, etc.

Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield)

Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor and schedule work

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment

Demonstrated ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations

Proficient using Excel or other spreadsheet software
