Job Summary
Rural High School Medical Camp Counselor – Daytime/Overnight 2026
This position is for a 3-day summer camp. This position will provide Daytime and Overnight support to program participants. Must be available to work the full duration of the camp. Counselors will accompany student to/from meals, facilitate and supervise daytime events, social/recreational activities, ensure all participants are in the dormitory at curfew, stay in private dormitories on ETSU Campus, and be on-call as needed between curfew and breakfast. Counselors will be required to drive program vans to off-campus sites. This position requires staying overnight in the dormitory where students are assigned, as well as being able to help student with overnight matters that arise, including dealing with emergency situations. RHSMC Counselors are expected to provide general guidance, support, motivation, and serve as mentors for camp participants. This posting is open to only Quillen College of Medicine students or students in the EQUIP Pathway Program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong communication skills
Ability to exhibit a level of professionalism expected of medical students
Supervise assigned groups of students
Work alongside Community Programs Coordinator and Rural Community Programs Administrator to execute needed supervision and guidance of program participants
Be timely and Responsible
Required Qualifications
This student must be a Quillen College of Medicine Student or EQUIP Pathway Program student
Required to attend all RHSMC sessions
Required to lead/participate in certain RHSMC sessions
Compensation and Benefits
Salary - $27 per hour
