Position Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of a KIPP Nashville Bus Monitor include, but are not limited to:
- Meet and greet visitors, staff, and students with a smile
- Ensure all students are seated, silent, and respectful throughout bus rides
- Communicate disciplinary issues to the Dean of Students
- Build positive and meaningful relationships with students and staff
- Support the bus driver as directed
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned
Partial Listing of Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds successful experience with working with elementary and/or middle school aged children
- Demonstrates a mature, calm and responsible attitude in dealing with the students, and has the ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the general public
- Has considerable ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written), and to follow both oral and written instructions

Expectations of KIPP Nashville bus drivers and support staff:
- Arrive at school by 5: 30 a.m. for the morning route
- Arrive at school by 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. (depending on location) for the afternoon route
- Ride the morning and afternoon routes Monday-Friday.
- Participate in professional development
Supervision:
Work is performed under the continuing supervision of the Director of Transportation.
Compensation:
This position is non-exempt and follows a 10-month administrative schedule.
