The
Events Coordinator Student Worker position provides support to the Director of University
Events. The Mission of our departments is to engage friends and alumni, inspire
philanthropic support, and promote the transformative mission of Belmont
University.
- Students provide
general office support by answering phone calls and greeting and assisting
campus guests, making copies, scanning and filing documents and providing
courier duties around campus.
- Students are also responsible
for data entry related to RSVP taking and timely responses to guests.
- Requires
significant attention to detail, ability to see the “whole picture” and
excellent data entry skills.
- Sedentary work.
Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and
climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and
balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement,
speaking clearly.
- Students
work 10-15 hours per week with flexible shifts during Monday-Friday from 8
AM-4:30 PM.
- On occasion, students are
asked to provide support for donor events, which can be held during the
evenings and on the weekends.
| Required Qualifications | Searching for students
who are friendly, dependable, detail orientated, and service orientated. A
basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word is required, The ideal candidate is
dependable, prompt, enthusiastic and self-motivated. They will take initiative
in completing tasks and desire to build/grow his/her skills. They should
also be able to easily work both individually and as part of a team and have a
strong work ethic. Additionally, the ideal candidate is highly professional, service-orientated
and has a willingness to help others. ALL MAJORS ENCOURAGED

and abilities include: - Strong communication skills (email, phone and in person). - Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Power Point). - Trustworthy (maintain confidentiality of Belmont records). - A positive attitude (must be flexible and adaptable to change). - Interested in communications, business operations and/or event planning/event
management (a willingness to do any and all of the above). |
