Job Title: Student Work-Study Assistant
Department: Office of Strategy and Innovation
Location: Belmont University – Office of Strategy and Innovation - Jack C. Massey, Suite 630
Hours: 10–15 hours per week (flexible around class schedule; in-person, on-site) - 3 positions available
Compensation: $12/hour
Position Summary
The Office of Strategy and Innovation at Belmont University is seeking three dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Student Work-Study Assistants to support daily administrative operations and strategic initiatives. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic office environment focused on innovation, collaboration, and institutional advancement.
This position requires a commitment for at least the full academic semester, with the potential for extension based on performance and departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide general administrative support including filing, scanning, copying, and organizing documents
Assist with scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating logistics
Greet and welcome guests, donors, and visitors; provide front desk support and assist with check-in for meetings and appointments
Run off-campus errands to procure supplies for meetings, events, and office needs
Assist with preparation, assembly, and distribution of donor gifts and materials
Maintain and track office inventory, including supplies and event materials; notify staff of restocking needs
Prepare and format reports, presentations, and correspondence
Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and contact lists
Support planning and execution of meetings, events, and special initiatives
Conduct basic research and compile information for projects as needed
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the office’s strategic goals
| Required Qualifications | Must be eligible for FWS and have been awarded. Currently enrolled student at Belmont University in good academic standing Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred for off-campus errands Work Expectations Position is in-person and on-site during scheduled hours Business casual attire is required while working in the office (guidelines can be provided upon hire) Professional demeanor is expected when interacting with guests, donors, and university staff Preferred Qualifications Interest in strategy, innovation, business, or higher education administration Previous experience in administrative support, customer service, or event coordination Familiarity with inventory tracking or data entry |
